Mac Velvet Teddy dupe?

While doing swatches for the two previous blog posts I noticed that one of the L.A. Color Luxury Creme Lip Color in Fling, looked an awful lot like Mac's Velvet Teddy, which I happened to have in my collection. 

I think they are very similar in colour, however Fling is a creme finish while Velvet Teddy is a matte. I say its a good afford alternative as the L.A. Girls cost between $2.40 to $4 compared to the $15 for a MAC lipstick. The creme finish is a good alternate for those are not a fan of the matte finish but love the colour and vice versa.

Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer

Over the holidays I finally got my hands on two of the thirteen shades of the Rimmel's Show Off Lip Lacquer (Rimmel Apocalips in the UK). I was super excited to try these as they have been all the rage lately. 

I opted to go for the more mute nude like colours as the other colours in the collection seemed a bit 'loud' for my taste in a gloss. Speaking of loud, the smell might be a bit overbearing for some as it does have a strong chemical cherry smell. Personally it doesn't bother me as the scent wears off overtime. 

On the bright side these are very pigmented liquid lipsticks and quite opaque with a smooth creamy texture that is very easy to apply and gives a very comfortable wear. Sadly this isn't a long wearing products and is easily transferable. This lip lacquer definitely will have to be reapplied throughout the day especially after a meal.

BareMinerals Kiss and Tell Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Set

This came out around the holiday time and I am glad I was able to get my hands on it. I was able to same a few of the BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipsticks without going broke. The set comes with five shades each a miniature version of the Moxie lipsticks but still packing a lot of product. Three of the shades are in the permanent collection (Speak Your Mind, Break Away, Get Ready) and two are limited edition (Go All Out and Be Bold).
