Mac Velvet Teddy dupe?

While doing swatches for the two previous blog posts I noticed that one of the L.A. Color Luxury Creme Lip Color in Fling, looked an awful lot like Mac's Velvet Teddy, which I happened to have in my collection.

I think they are very similar in colour, however Fling is a creme finish while Velvet Teddy is a matte. I say its a good afford alternative as the L.A. Girls cost between $2.40 to $4 compared to the $15 for a MAC lipstick. The creme finish is a good alternate for those are not a fan of the matte finish but love the colour and vice versa.

You decide!

Another Cherry Culture Haul

I recently did some more damage on the Cherry Culture website and got a few items I have been eyeing for a while now. So since this time of year I can justify splurging a bit on myself because its around my birthday time I went ahead and got some stuff.

NYX Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Medium Beige

Jordana Matte Lipstick in Sweet Sorbet
This is more of a metallic finish than a matte. It is also very sheer and have to really build it up to get a good colour payoff

L.A. Girl's Creme Lipstick in Love Letter, Secret Admirer, Pure Ecstasy
I am in ecstacy for Pure Ecstasy lol. I am so in love with this lipstick I am wanting more. They have the texture of Mac cremesheen finish on the lips but smells like a hair product (bummer), it is not an overpowering scent but you can faintly smell it when applying the product. However the pigmentation is unbelievable for the price of this product (USD$2.50), it is rich and applies very opaque.

NYX Round Lipsticks in Fig, Rose, Peach Bellini Peach Bellini is very sheer, so you will have to swipe it a couple times to build up the colour.

Coralberry vs Vegas Volt

Hey again guy! I recently been finding myself on a all things coral kick. Particularly coral and orange-based lipsticks. So you can only imagine my anticipation for the soon to be released MAC collection All Things Orange. More on that soon :)

So to hold me over until then, I recently added Revlon's Coralberry to my collection. And I have no regrets there. It is creamy and has a decent wear-time. Even with eating and drink the colour was still noticeable afterwards.

However I noticed that it was pretty similar in colour to Vegas Volt by MAC. So I decided to do some swatch comparisons.

Both looking more pink than coral in this lighting.

Nice sleek black packaging of both

On top is Coralberry and Vegas Volt on the bottom
Vegas Volt has a richer creamer more texture and is more pigmented, but i love that Coralberry is a more toned-downed version of Vegas Volt which makes it great for everyday wear.
