Pop Art Brush Set

The brushes in the BH Cosmetics Pop Art Brush Set comes in a rainbow of vivid and vibrant colours. These fun loving colours makes doing your makeup an even more enjoyable experience.

The set comes with 10 complexion and eye brushes with each brush having a different colour handle. Not only are these beautiful to look at but they are of good quality. With sturdy but very soft synthetic bristles.  S far I have not experienced any shedding with these brushes.

Other than the vibrant colours and soft bristles, the other reason to love this set is the case. It comes in a striped cylindrical hard case with snap closures that can be doubled as a brush holder (thumbs up for that, I love products that can multitask).

The set retails on the BH Cosmetics website for USD$24.95, but you can always get it on one of the many deals the website is always running (I got mines for USD$15) and the best part is that they ship internationally. So no worries for us non-American makeup lovers.

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette Review and Swatches

The geek in me with the childhood dreams of being an Astronomer met the adult make up lover in the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Girl palette. When this first came out I was in awe at the beautiful packing and the unique shadows. So of course since it was readily available at a store in Jamaica for a similar price point to that on the BH Cosmetics site, I had to jump in and get one of these babies for myself. And I have no regrets I am in love J

The palette contains 18 baked eyeshadows and according to the BH website, it is “inspired by the moons and planets of the universe, eyeshadows range from hot sun-orange to cool earth-blue and colors of the Milky Way. Be as chic as a sparkling star”. Now tell me. What girl could resist that? When we are all sparking stars. 

The packaging is a very thick card board material throughout and does not feel cheaply made at all. However I wouldn't recommend getting it wet, I am not sure how it would hold up to that. So keep all liquids far away from it. The shadows themselves are dome shaped as it seems most baked shadows are and are fairly large so you do get a good amount of product (Net Wt of 1.27oz/35.4g).

The shadows are quite pigmented as well, the swatches below were done without a primer and most were done with only one swipe. Only the lighter shades I had to build up a bit to get them more vibrate so I did two swipes for those.

BH Cosmetics Crème Luxe Lipstick Review

I bought the BH Cosmetics lipstick on the same occasion I bought the Real Techniques Core Collection. I have tried it a few times and has decided to do a review on the product. I swear the sales girl scampered me into buying as I had no intention of getting a lipstick when I went into the store much less a nude coloured one. So I decided to take the BH Cosmetics lipstick when given the option between it and a Milani Colour Statement in Nude Crème which I had initially wanted. But seeing that I can purchase a Milani lipstick readily and had already had a few, I opted for the BH Cosmetics lipstick in Tea Time.

The lipstick comes in a slick black packaging with a clear base showing the actual colour of the lipstick. The only writings present on the tube is the BH Cosmetics Crème Luxe Lipstick written down the side and the name of the colour on the clear base (as seen in the photo above). It reminds me a lot of the NYX Round lipsticks except that the BH Cosmetics lipstick has a greater circumference and is taller. However the inner tube and the actual lipstick is the same size. The packaging feels durable and closes pretty tightly so I doubt the cap would be coming off in your make-up bag.

On the BH Cosmetics website these are priced at USD$7.95 generally but they are always having some sort of sale where you can get them cheaper. At the local store I purchased it for JMD$600, which isn't bad for a lip product. So I can say it’s afford and well-priced.

Now on to the actual lipstick itself. It is available in 12 shades but the one I have is in Tea Time, one of the lightest shades available. The texture of the lipstick when applied to the lips is very creamy as suggested by the name Crème Luxe. It reminds me a lot of the creaminess of the MAC Amplified lipstick. The pigmentation is fairly good considering that such a light colour showed up on my much pigmented lips. Overall I find the formulation to be too creamy for my liking (not a fan of MAC’s Amplified formula either). I feel as if it will just slip off my lips as time goes on not the mention the colour applies patchy and slips and slides when I rub my lips together. This is definitely one of those lip products that you have to apply, blot then apply again and might even need to blot a second time just to get it to adhere to your lips.

I am not sure if I would purchase another one, if I did it would be a darker colour just for the sake of trying it out.  

Review of 12 piece berry brush set from BH Cosmetics

Hi there my sweet candies! 

Today I will be reviewing, finally, the 12 piece Berry Brush set from BH Cosmetics.  The Berry Brush Set has berry-colored handles and synthetic black bristles that are dip-dyed in purple! They come in a patent berry purple case with a snap button. 

The set consists of a Dual Sided Brow & Lash, Spoolie, Skinny Eyeliner Brush, Fine Eyeliner Brush, Angles Eyeliner Brush, Smudge Brush. Fan Brush, Flat Eyeliner Brush, Small Eyeshadow Brush, Eyeshadow Brush, Blush Brush, Powder Brush. 

When I got this brush set, the smell was horrendous. It smelt like cheap acrylic plastic I literally had to throw it aside separate from my others things and far from my nose. After 'airing out' for a couple days the smell wore off thankfully!  

Onto the actual brushes. The face brushes are super soft, I used it to set my foundation this morning and there was no prickly  feeling as i have had from other brushes in the past. 

The eyeshadow brushes are pretty firm particularly the blending brush. I was a bit hesitant about how well it would blend out my shadow but after trying it out I like the firmness of it. The brush really gets the shadow in my crease and blends it out nicely.

After washing these brushes for the first time there was no bleeding of the berry colour for which I am glad. The spoolie did become loose though and felt a bit flimsy. But i easily screwed the top back onto the handle though its still not sturdy. 

This mini Kabuki was so deceiving when i first saw this online. I though it was a lot bigger. However, to my surprise despite the small size, this little guy is packed densely. 

I swear you could buff in a light foundation with this it worked great for powders.

BH Cosmetics haul

I recently got in my BH Cosmetics items i purchased a couple weeks ago. It took that long seeing that when made my order i shipped it to my mom in CT. Who in turn shipped it to Jamaica with some other items i had previously bought (BBW semi-annual sales are the greatest!). So here goes some pics of the items. Further review on each item and swatches where applicable will be coming up.

The items included The Party Girl Palette, a 12 piece berry brush set and a mini Kabuki brush. All have which i got for US$20 in one of their anniversary deals. I had to jump at that offer, that was such a superb deal. Make sure to check the BH Cosmetics website because they have been posting these awesome deals every couple days. But you have to jump at it quickly because they don't last for more than 2 to 3 days at a time.

The other items included a make-up bag which was (and still is on the site) $3 and a 15 eyeshadow custom palette which btw holds my E.L.F shadows but more on that later.

BH Cosmetics 88 Tropical Matte Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

One random night i was bored i decided to do some swatches of my BH Cosmetics 88 Tropical Matte palette. The colors are on the pale warmer side but the pigmentation is amazing. I wanted a palette to have some color but not the bright in your face colors.
